PLAY DATE LACQUER @ CVS| RING ACCESSORIES @ OLD NAVY| Hi everyone, it's a cloudy and rainy wednesday. A perfect reason to stay all wrapped up in a warm cozy blanket, drink freshly brewed coffee, and enjoy a thrilling movie or read an exciting book!
But nope, that's not how the day is going for me! My day is pack full with activies, errands and lots of driving around... in the rain #sigh#
On days like these, my pretty play date lacquer by Essie and metalic silver hand accessories set the mood. I love this polish; the colour has a sweet, sensual and soft look. I paired it with these rings and braclet, for a gladiator monochrone look and a hint of understated sophistication.
While waiting in traffic, I looked down at my hands and thought to myself "you guys sure go through a lot". Put in the words of Prof. Nelson Lee Novick, a clinic professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine; our hands are exposed to sunlight, extreme temperatures, and a lot of wear and tear.
Now, that's enough reason to pamper and take care of these workhorses of the body. Here are a few of my tips and simple daily hand care routine:
1. Always use gloves while washing with your hands.
2. Wash your hands with tepid water; hot water tends to dry out the skin.
3. I use Dove moisturizing bar soap to wash my hands; the moisturizing components of this soap protect, preserve and seal in our natural body oils.
4. Once a week, I exfoilate my hands with MaryKay's Peach Satin Hands Pampering Set. You can make your own homemade hand scrub with olive oil and brown sugar.
5. I always apply a hand cream once I'm done with water. A good cream to apply if you have dry skin is the Aquaphor Healing Ointment.
6. Use a protective sunscreen vigilantly when outdoors.
7. I use warm wool gloves to sleep especially in low temperatures to keep the skin soft and smooth.
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you found it helpful.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
